Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Language Learner app (the “Application”) for Android, provided by Mheek-Apps (the “Service Provider”). The Application is intended for use “AS IS”.
Summary
Language Learner is offline-first. Your language pairs, vocabulary items, review progress, settings, and optional PDF reference files are stored locally on your device. The Service Provider does not operate a Language Learner user account system and does not receive your learning content as part of normal app use.
Data stored on your device
Depending on how you use the Application, it may store on your device:
- Language pairs, categories, content types, and learning items (source/target text, notes, difficulty)
- Spaced-repetition progress and review history
- App settings (theme, font size, language, daily goals, reminders, biometric lock preference)
- Optional conversation-drill practice state
- Optional PDF reference files you import into the per-language PDF library
- Optional local backups or CSV / Excel / PDF exports you create
- Purchase entitlement state for Premium (via Google Play Billing on device)
If you uninstall the Application or clear its data, local data (including stored PDFs under the app’s private storage) may be permanently deleted unless you previously exported or backed it up yourself.
Optional network use
Internet access is not required for core offline study. When online, the Application may:

Contact Google Play Billing services to offer, restore, or verify the one-time Premium product
(
unlock_premium_features).
The Application does not upload your vocabulary, review history, or PDF library to servers operated by the Service Provider.
Notifications and alarms
If you enable daily reminders, the Application may schedule local notifications and (where permitted) exact alarms. Notification content is generated on your device from your local settings.
Biometrics
If you enable app lock, the Application uses the device biometric APIs (for example fingerprint) through Android BiometricPrompt. Biometric templates stay on the device / secure hardware and are not accessible to the Service Provider.
Text-to-speech
Listening / speak features may use on-device Android Text-to-Speech engines. Spoken phrases are processed locally according to the OS TTS provider; the Service Provider does not receive that audio.
Permissions
Depending on features you use, the Application may request:
- Notifications — optional daily study reminders
- Exact alarms / schedule exact alarm — optional precise reminder timing
- Biometric / fingerprint — optional app lock
- Files / documents (via system picker) — only when you import, export, backup, or add PDFs
- Billing — Google Play purchases
Children
The Application is not directed at children. Do not use the Application if you are not allowed to do so under applicable law.
Data sharing and sale
The Service Provider does not sell your learning data. Data leaves your device only when you initiate optional network features (Google Play Billing) or when you yourself share or export files (for example a backup, CSV/Excel/PDF export, or a PDF you open with another app).
Third-party services

Those services have their own privacy policies.
Security
We design the Application to keep your data on-device. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Protect your device with a lock screen, and treat unencrypted backups and exports as sensitive.
Your rights and choices
Because most data stays on your device, you can export, delete, or clear it through the Application and Android system settings. For privacy questions about the Application, contact mheek_apps@pm.me.
