Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the PaceTrack app (the “Application”) for Android, provided by the app owner (the “Service Provider”). The Application is intended for use “AS IS”.
Summary
PaceTrack is offline-first. Your pace calculations, split plans, and preferences are stored locally on your device (Android DataStore). The Service Provider does not operate a PaceTrack user account system, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not use Firebase in the Application. We do not receive your training numbers as part of normal app use.
Data stored on your device
Depending on how you use the Application, it may store on your device:
- Last-used time, distance, and pace values (and which field you solve for)
- Selected tab (Simple / Advanced), pace level presets, and custom split distances
- Grade Adjusted Pace (GAP) inputs you enter (for example grade or elevation)
- App settings such as theme and large-display preference
- Purchase entitlement state for PaceTrack Pro (via Google Play Billing on device)
If you uninstall the Application or clear its data, local data may be permanently deleted unless Android Backup restored it (see below) or you previously exported it yourself.
Android Backup
The Application allows Android Auto Backup (android:allowBackup="true"). Depending on your
device and Google account settings, Android may include app preferences in your personal device backup.
That backup is managed by Google / your device, not by a PaceTrack cloud service operated by the Service Provider.
Clipboard and CSV export (user-initiated)
You may choose to copy a split plan to the system clipboard or share a CSV file via Android’s share sheet (FileProvider). These actions are initiated by you. The Service Provider does not receive clipboard or CSV content. Once shared or copied, that content is under the control of the destination app or clipboard you selected.
Network use and payments
Core pace calculation does not require internet access. The Application declares Google Play Billing
permission so it can offer, restore, or verify the one-time in-app product
pacetrack_pro. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play; we do not receive your payment
card details. We receive purchase / entitlement status through Play Billing on the device to unlock Pro features.
The Application does not include ads, analytics, crash-reporting, or Firebase SDKs, and does not upload your pace or split data to servers operated by the Service Provider.
Permissions
com.android.vending.BILLING— optional PaceTrack Pro purchase / restore
No location, camera, contacts, or microphone permissions are required for PaceTrack.
Children
The Application is not directed at children. Do not use the Application if you are not allowed to do so under applicable law.
Data sharing and sale
The Service Provider does not sell your personal data. App data stays on your device except when you initiate clipboard copy or CSV share, when Google Play Billing runs for purchases, or when Android Backup (if enabled on your device) includes app data in your personal backup.
Third-party services
- Google Play / Play Billing — distribution and one-time purchases
- Android Backup (optional, device-controlled) — may include local preferences
Those services have their own privacy policies.
Security
We design the Application to keep your settings on-device. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Protect your device with a lock screen, and treat shared CSV exports as information you choose to disclose.
Your rights and choices
Because most data stays on your device, you can clear it by clearing app storage or uninstalling. For privacy questions about the Application, contact mheek_apps@pm.me.
