Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the SoloStack app (the “Application”) for Android, provided by the app owner (the “Service Provider”). The Application is intended for use “AS IS”.
Summary
SoloStack is offline-first. Your transactions, categories, and preferences are stored locally on your device. The Service Provider does not operate a SoloStack user account system and does not receive your financial entries as part of normal app use.
Data stored on your device
Depending on how you use the Application, it may store on your device:
- Transactions, categories, recurring rules, and related notes
- App settings (currency, language, theme, tax/margin defaults, goals)
- Cached exchange rates
- Optional receipt images (if you use camera / OCR features)
- Optional local backups you create (for example ZIP/CSV exports)
- Purchase entitlement state for SoloStack PRO (via Google Play Billing on device)
If you uninstall the Application or clear its data, local data may be permanently deleted unless you previously exported or backed it up yourself.
Optional network use
Internet access is not required for core offline bookkeeping. When online, the Application may:
- Request public exchange rates from a third-party rate API (currently Frankfurter / ECB-based rates) when you refresh rates or when a silent refresh runs. The request contains currency codes, not your transaction list.
- Contact Google Play Billing services to offer, restore, or verify the one-time SoloStack PRO product.
- If you enable bring-your-own cloud backup (PRO), upload or download backup files to your WebDAV, Google Drive, or Dropbox account using credentials or tokens you provide. Those providers process data under their own policies.
Camera, OCR, and biometrics
- Camera / OCR (PRO): used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Image processing is intended to run on-device. Receipt images you keep remain in local app storage unless you include them in a backup you create or sync.
- Biometrics (PRO): optional app lock uses your device biometric / credential APIs. Biometric templates stay on the device / OS; the Application does not receive fingerprint or face data.
Permissions
Depending on features you use, the Application may request:
- Internet — optional rate refresh and optional cloud backup
- Camera — optional receipt capture
- Biometric / device credential — optional app lock
Children
The Application is not directed at children. Do not use the Application if you are not allowed to do so under applicable law.
Data sharing and sale
The Service Provider does not sell your personal financial entries. Data leaves your device only when you initiate optional network features (rate refresh, Play Billing, or your own cloud backup).
Third-party services
- Google Play / Play Billing — purchases and distribution
- Frankfurter (or similar public FX API) — exchange rates when requested
- Your chosen cloud provider (WebDAV / Google Drive / Dropbox) — only if you configure BYO sync
Those services have their own privacy policies.
Security
We design the Application to keep your books on-device. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Protect your device with a lock screen, and treat unencrypted backups as sensitive.
Your rights and choices
Because most data stays on your device, you can export, delete, or clear it through the Application and Android system settings. For privacy questions about the Application, contact mheek_apps@pm.me.
